Emma's favorite sport is swimming! She swam on a local year-round team for five years and participated on her high school swim team for two hears. This will be her tenth summer participating in summer swim league! Emma has also been a volunteer junior coach for three summers and is excited to join the Briar Chapel coaching team this summer as an official coach! Emma has also volunteered with a local program that teaches foster children how to swim.
Emma loves to coach swimming because of the connections she forges with young swimmers. She enjoys helping kids of all ages grow in both confidence and ability. She thinks it is especially important for young swimmers to have older youth swimmers to look up to as role models and hopes to mirror the positive impact so many of her adolescent coaches have had on her.
Emma is a rising senior at Northwood High School. In addition to participating on the swim team, she is also a member of her school's cross country and track team. She is a section leader and marching captain in her high school marching band. Additionally, she is involved in several clubs; including, Math Honor Society, English Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, Human Rights Club, Travel Club, Culture Club and C2BK. Outside of school is also a lifeguard at the Briar Chapel Pool and co-runs a tutoring business.
